Our primary concern is the welfare of our rescued birds - their safety and well-being and their happiness. We let our birds choose the people.
Adopting a rescued bird is a serious committment. They usually come to us with issues of some kind, which is one of the reasons for working towards that perfect match between bird and owner. Your environment at home and the extent of your knowledge on bird ownership will help determine that match.
The ultimate decision, however, still remains with the bird. You will be required to make several visits to our establishment to interact with our rescued birds and to see how they interact with you.
Patience is the key in waiting for that perfect match, especially if you are looking for a particular species.
During your visits, we will also go into more detail on the care of the birds and answer any questions.
Medical tests are run on every bird that comes to us if not already done. Only adoptable birds are considered for that perfect match between bird and owner. Some birds are deemed unadoptable for a variety of reasons - health issues, temperament, age, etc. For those birds, we offer a permanent sanctuary.
Adoption fees vary depending on the species, the age of the bird, and the extent of medical treatment required. If extensive travel was required to pick up a bird and bring it back to our facility, fuel and accommodation costs are also included in the adoption fee. |
